last night i met an artist whose work i admire~
joel elrod. i love his uneven line, his sadness, his "naive" self-taught look, his lettering, his freeness, his doodles, his imagery-birds, vines, gardens, contorted faces, smoke, beauty, anguish...
he was so kind to have me over and speak of his influences, whom not surprisingly, i too gravitate towards many of the same artists:
henrik drescher,
the clayton brothers,
francis bacon and
joe sorren (whom he went to school with).
thank you for sharing.
