ivy & bean

ivy & beanthis is a potential kid's book cover for chronicle books. the characters remind me of the story that i am trying to write about my sister and i. the type"ivy & bean" would go on either side of the girls and can be read upside down or rightside up. can you tell that the hair is an ampersand? i sorta like the sketches better.

i love children's books...

this looks like a great cover.
i love the look on their faces.
i didn't immediately realize the
hair was an ampersand but then
when i looked at the sketch
that also had the names on it,
it does look like one.

looks great, i think
:)

I love it. Bean and Ivy painting.
I also wish you would do a little sketch of your faces for halloween that could be a guide for the rest of us for next year. Those photos of so wonderful of you and your costume.

congrats on the chronicle book cover! i'm out of the mati loop :( is this your kids book getting pubbed or are you doing a cover for an anthology?! i've always been a fan of your characters. i feel so stretched in many directions and don't always feel like i'm making any headway. as a sag, as well, i get impatient, and sometimes feel guilty for my nocturnal lifestyle, what with catering (getting old) and drawing/painting.

i love the quotation from your art instructor. we forget to honor the process and want to burn the trail we took to get somewhere.
