my studio sketch
see bigger here.
i found this drawing today in one of my files and it cracked me up... planning my space. am i 8 years?
yes, inside i am. my creative self at least.
it reminds me of similar sketches i would do based on my all time fave "the anti-coloring book". do any of you remember this?
i totally want to do an adult painting version and have one in the works! any book publishers reading? :)
in the 1984 version that my sister and i drew in endlessly pages include these coloring prompts:
- Design the perfect jungle gym.
- What would you expect to find while exploring another planet?
- What is the worst thing about being a kid?
- What surprise can you find in a gum ball machine?
- What would you like to buy for your parents?
- What makes you cry?
so relevant still.

I have never heard of the Anti-Coloring Book- what a clever idea!
I loved the anti coloring book! So fun. When you get done with that adult version I'll do a test run for you!
Oh, yes! The Anti-Coloring book totally rocked! I was so sad when both volumes were all filled up. That would be awesome for you to make a grown up one. Self-publish it if nothing else, please! :)
Love this idea! Just get started and then present it to a publisher, Mati! ;-) I've done tons of silly sketches of my entire house too. (Not that I ever follow it, though...) Miss you!!!!!!!
So I am not the only one who likes to do floorplans and outlines and maps.
I'm such a visually oriented person that this kind of stuff makes it real for me.
I agree...go for it and make a grown up one! Aren't we all still little kids inside?!?
you go girl!
I remember the anti colouring book.... i loved the "What are these people looking at ? " page. I have another now about 'Rosie Apple' that i bought for my daughter.... and then HAD to get one for myself too.
