i am back from the desert!
i am back to school today, too!
i learned so much... mostly about myself. my limits, joy, frustrations... good hard beautiful.
so much to process, especially about the tragedy in new orleans,
and me with no internet access at home for some weird unknown reason.
i'm writing from the hallway at school before my night class.
i just wanted to say hello. i am starting to catch up...
my instructor said some wonderful things this afternoon, just what i needed to hear to ground.
i want to share:
be sincere when you do your work.
strive for authenticity.
you are exactly where you are.
push-stretch-explore
draw with this word in mind.... pentimento= the traces of the effort of the search (to repent)
be your own teacher. come up with the most difficult assingment that you most dread and struggle for 6 hours with it.
(mine will most likely be a bunch of chairs and tables or hands in contorted positions)
"Writers (and artists) don't need tricks or gimmicks or even necessarily need to be the smartest fellows on the block. At the risk of appearing foolish, a writer sometimes needs to be able to just stand and gape at this or that thing- a sunset or an old shoe- in absolute and simple amazement". - Raymond Carver

A real enlightening blog. Don't stop now. Here's a subject that interests many; how to buy & sell everything, like lacrosse on interest free credit; pay whenever you want.

Welcome back Mati! Thanks for sharing those words. I can't wait to hear more about your experiences at Burning Man.
Plus I owe you your choice of a painting, so we should get together soon!
